If I was online on this site on yahoo! Answers and I said something racist, I would get my account suspended but in public, people are allowed to be racist all the time and its legal! Why is that? Its not like people will get arrested for saying something racist or swearing but if its on yahoo or on the internet, it causes your account to be taken away because you are disobeying the yahoo! Guidelines! If it isn’t free speech to say something offensive online then why is it totally ok in public and you can’t get arrested or have a consequence for it?|||because yahoo dose what it wants. they have no accountability. unless you got a lawyer and sue them for free speech violation. they do what they want. just like they suspend the account of any one that asks about hitting a girl in the boob or kicking her in the crotch. but never suspend any of the trolls that ask hundreds of questions about kicking a guy in the nuts. get the idea|||There is no free speach on websites, when there is a term and condition that you agree too.
In real life, there is a right to free speach, and at the same time there are laws which dictate, what is acceptable in terms of the reaction to free speach, whether it is racisim or not.
Saying a speach which is racist in public. Means you CAN still be arrested.
Charges include, public nuisance, inciting violence, public micheif.
If a group of people acted on the racist speach in public.
Although the speaker did not commit the criminal offense themselves, they can also be charged with inciting a riot depending on the mass nature of the crime.
So the act of others can also fall on the speaker. As the speaker, although entitled to free speach, has a moral obligation as well.|||last answer ever on this Q%26amp;A site. You should be required to have some sort of filter for your weirdo questions!
Racism is taught. Someone taught you to be a racist which means if you are taught an improper behavior you can learn how to stop being ignorant. seriously? i am trying to think or remember when i ever came across as a racist???? can someone please help me out with that? that is one i do not understand.
sure, your 1st amendment right give you the freedom to say whatever you want. however, i know i do not want to login to a site with racist slurs unless i intended to be there. start your hate page or read some books.|||You just answered your own question, and just don't want to see it, I guess.
Yahoo is run by Yahoo, and they make the rules because they run it. If you run something, you get to make the rules, so go set up your own network and have a rule that in order to have membership everyone must say something incredibly stupid once every week or they get booted off. If it's YOUR system, you make the rules.
If you find Yahoo's rules (that you show fairness and politeness) intolerable, you don't have to stay here, you know. But you don't get to tell people they can't run their system the way they want to.
You sound kind of rude and mean. You may have heard the old saying, "Mean people suck."|||You can say what ever you like out in public.
I will proudly give my life to defend your right to do so, even if what you are saying makes me sick.
If you come into my house and act disrespectful, to anyone, I will beat you within an inch of your life.
This happens to be Yahoo's house, and they are quite tolerant compared to the rules in my house.|||I dunno man. There are a lot of rules that dont make sense. The quesion youd want to ask is why would you want to say anything racist at all. I am not going to hate someone for the way they were born, or for their gender. Make fun of ppl for stuff they can help!
Nice sweater dork!!|||You can say anything you like, on your own website. Hate groups have websites. But Yahoo isn't your website. They can have any guidelines they would like to have.|||Well if you say the N word its fine for some black people in public but other than that its inappropriate I don't know where you live but I think your on the wrong side of public.|||IT'S NOT OK TO SAY RACIST THINGS...IN PUBLIC OR ONLINE. This website has guidelines and if you can't follow them you don't deserve to use it.
