YAHOO Online Team.|||This is a known phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.|||What about it?

Hopefully you didn't comply!|||i get that all the time. ignore it, its a scam!|||I want to know too.|||Scam!!!! That's a phishing email. Don't reply to the message and give out your personal information to total strangers or you'll risk losing your account to them. Remember that Y! doesn't send unsolicited emails to all its users, as the company already has that stored in its well-secured servers.

Go here to report the message to Customer Care: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya…

Choose Password Phishing as the reason for the violation you're reporting on.

Alternatively, you can also forward it to them-unedited and with full headers-at the following address: phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com

After that, get it deleted without delay.|||Link: http://www.snopes.com/computer/internet/…

No webmail provider will ever ask you to send mail on, or reply with your details to ‘preserve’ your account. The only working way to “prove your account is active” is to log in to that account. Yes, it is that simple. There are systems that track inactive accounts – and delete those after a certain time frame – but they will only send a warning, to the inactive mail and to any known alternative mail addresses.

To put it simply – they already KNOW who you are, and your name, username and password. Otherwise they could not let you log in – if the password were unknown :)

Any mail that claims otherwise, should be treated as either a bad joke, or an attempt at gaining access to your account to send spam.

Never, ever, reply and give out information. Doing so will result in you losing control of your account, and possibly losing the account and its contents completely.
